Jack Freeland

Having successfully completed the LLB (Hons), Jack subsequently graduated with a commendation in his LLM International Law & Strategic Studies from the University of Aberdeen. Taking impetus from his masters thesis on the use of force in international law, Jack joined the firm in 2017, as a Postgraduate Intern, with a keen interest in human rights and legal research.

During his time at the firm, Jack has furthered and expanded these interests with casework preparation and research across various areas of immigration and nationality law. He has taken a particular interest in Brexit, and its effect on the UK immigration system. Jack now provides regular assistance to the solicitors of the firm in a number of cases, ranging from the assistance in preparation of Court of Session petitions to helping elucidate legal issues in complex intercountry adoption cases.

It is through this work that Jack has secured a traineeship at the firm commencing in 2018 after the successful completion of his Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Glasgow. He will remain at the firm as a Postgraduate Intern throughout diploma year.
