Stephen Winter is a solicitor and solicitor advocate. Following graduation from Glasgow University Stephen covered a wide variety of areas of law before specialising in asylum and immigration law. He has been practising in this area for 7 years. He is dual qualified in English law and has an LLM (Human Rights). Stephen is a solicitor advocate which allows him to practice in the Court of Session. |
Commenced work with Grace McGill 12 years ago. Fran, has been an integral part of Grace’s team, working closely with the clients through all stages of the process. She is a qualified Paralegal, who has specialised solely in this area of law. She has considerable experience of entry clearance work, dealing daily with the UK Embassy’s abroad. She also heads up the firms IT team, ensuring the smooth processing of client’s work. |
Darren joined the firm after completing 6 years of service for the Home Office, where he was a case owner appearing regularly at the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal on behalf of the Secretary of State. He is currently a trainee solicitor for the firm. |
Tim worked for the Home Office Immigration Department for 37 years, starting as an Immigration Officer in Dover, moving on to be a Chief Immigration Officer at Heathrow and finishing as Chief Immigration Officer in Edinburgh for the last 17 years of his career. During this time Tim dealt with most aspects of immigration control, including port work, enforcement work against those that arrived here illegally, appeals and a spell as a Visa Officer. After retirement he took a part time job assisting Mrs McGill and has been able to use his long experience to advise clients and help them in their applications to the Home Office. |

The Administrative and Management team of the firm is headed by Dorothy who is the firm manager. Dorothy has been with Grace for the last 9 years and is responsible for the smooth running of both offices, including all financial management. |
