This month the Government announced that the Priority Visa service which is already established in China and India is to be extended to cover UAE, Turkey, South Africa, Thailand ,the Philippines, New York & Paris. The change in practice and application is due to be implemented by April 2015. For the premium price of £600 in addition to normal visa charges, visa applications will be dealt with under the priority service with visa applications decided within 24 hours. The Government have stressed however that by using the super premium service does not mean that the application will be guaranteed and all requirements of the Rules must still be satisfied.
This route will only available for Business visitors, family visitors and general visitors who have previous compliant travel to the UK, US or Schengen countries within the last 5 years , Tier 2 General and ICT applications and Tier 5 Sportspeople and entertainers. There are other priority visa services already in place for other visa categories.
UK Visa's have also confirmed that the premium service should not be used by those who have previously been refused a visa for the UK, removed, deported or otherwise required to leave the UK and /or previously overstayed a period of leave, had leave to remain in the UK curtailed or refused or have committed any criminal offence in any country.
